It's named after Évariste Galois, who laid the foundations for group theory. He was really intelligent, which, I guess, is why he decided to fight in a duel and then died of the wounds he suffered at 20 years old.

it's like asking time at 10 o'clock on 12-hr clock, it's just 10,
100 / 101 = 0 with remainder of 100
the wrap-around happens when you hit/pass the mod 101 (e.g. 13 ≡ 1 (mod 12)).
101/101 = 1 w. rem. 0
102 / 101 = 1 w. rem. 1
103 / 101 = 1 w. rem. 2

This formula is an integral part of my learning journey. It shows that multiplying a bunch of 'commitments' together is the same as adding up their hidden contents inside the exponent. It proves that you can combine many individual, secret values (m_i) into a single new value, and the math still works out.
