• I'll take any genre, including historical, musicals/stage plays, and documentary/docudrama (regardless of their quality).

• I don't want any PragerU bullshit (using our genuine, real-life stories as Conservative propaganda). Other than that, I'll take any quality of movie/writing/depiction. (So, something like She's The Man or Emelia Perez would be okay under this ruleset, despite them both being, y'know, bad movies)

Did kids looks older back then?

Someone recommended the film Dream Boy. It's a film about two queer boys meeting in rural 1970s Louisiana and made in 2008.

The story is fairly generic, very uke and same, but the culture portrayed around the time is telling.

And the lead actors look so old! I'm in my thirties and I don't look that old. This is a phenomenon I've noticed with older media: that children look like life-weary thirty-year-olds. Is it just me?

The film was muted in colour, great sound design, and the writing was very '70s. This movie could be made again today but with trans kids. Just saying.

Looking for a great movie about polyamory to watch this evening? (Of course you are!)

"4some", aka Svatá Ctverice (2012) is about two couples who have been mutual friends for decades who decide to make the switch to polyamory amongst themselves.

It's a delightful comedy (/dramedy) with some very real, relatable people who care about each other at the center.
