Fiji: Former FijiFirst (Centre) prime minister Frank Bainimarama, who led Fiji for 16 years after a 2006 coup, has been charged with inciting mutiny over a 2023 plot to oust the military chief. He is in custody pending court.

@ArrestJK Fijian politics is a bit more complicated than that... Rabuka seems to have been reinventing himself as a (comparative) voice of reason (compaired with Bainimarama, at any rate...) while Peters has been going in the other direction (hopping into bed with the cookers? really?) Whether or not the reinvention will last is another matter... cf. Judith Collins' temporary discovery of common sense after the Christchurch massacres.
