RT by @Jude_KD: The of horrific buying practices in tonight's #BBCPanorama are not unique to Boohoo - they are rampant across the fashion industry 👕

The UK Government must step in & set up a #FashionWatchdog to stop brands getting away with it. Email your MP https://shorturl.at/jlmAB

Stop fashion brands undermining garment workers' rights

Nothing has changed At the start of lockdown, March 2020, fashion brands on mass cancelled orders with factories and refused to pay even for clothes that had been made. Workers were sent home without pay and many are still fighting today for brands to pay them what they’re owed. Two years on from that event and nothing has changed - the very same things are happening without punishment. But there is a solution. A Fashion Watchdog would make brands and retailers treat their suppliers properly.

RT @transformtrade_: Great video highlighting the key findings from our report.

There isn't one fix-all solution but introducing a #fashionwatchdog would help to stop brands getting away with mistreating their factories & workers

Ask your MP to back the watchdog: https://action.transform-trade.org/fashion-watchdog-mp-pledge

RT @transformtrade_: @aberdeenuni @thetimes The only thing that will stop it is a #FashionWatchdog - like the existing supermarket watchdog which has forced supermarkets to pay their suppliers fairly.

Tell the government: we want a Fashion Watchdog

Take action! It’s time to clean up the fashion industry – for good. Too many fashion retailers cut corners to squeeze out profits, at the expense of the people who make our clothes. Unfortunately, UK retailers are some of the worst offenders. It’s been like that for years. The shock of Covid only made it worse with millions of garment workers laid off and some forced to work despite being sick. Unless fashion retailers change the way they do business, we’ll never see an end to poverty wages and unsafe conditions for the people working in garment factories.

RT @transformtrade_: This #BlackFriday, it's time for @beisgovuk to establish a #FashionWatchdog if the UK is to truly build back better.
