Excellent work ethic from Italy, but no way to unlock France. 20 minutes or so of at least shutting them down, slowing it down, but no options for capitalising or getting through a formidable French defensive line.

Yet another match decided by the terrible "deliberate knock-on" law. Italy weren't realistically going to win, but they were still in touch and that 4th try kills the game, and never happens with Lynagh on the field.

I know I'm fighting a losing battle against this law now, but I can't help the fact that you are all so wrong. :-)

Well, at the end of the day, Italy were never really able to capitalise on their chances, and France mostly were.
