@foxyoreos @soatok @gsuberland I've always been puzzled why anyone would volunteer their finite free time as a mod for a fully for profit corporate web corporation.

I've done modding but only for free and autonomous projects. It's a thankless task. I'd never do it again.

The really sad thing is the move from specialist run forums to single point of failure stack* type properties. #ExpertsExchange has been mentioned. #Github should be added to list of bad faith organizations.

@feditips it helps quite a bit with dispelling ambiguity as well. Prior to them adding a hyphen to their URL it was quite humorous explaining to people that #ExpertsExchange was in fact a tech site and not a shady fly-by-night pseudo-medical site XD

@aaronjustaaron A late Web 2.0 Q&A site (think Yahoo! Answers, RIP) that took on a ton of VC money and turned to dark patterns and spammy behavior to try and monetize traffic.

A fancier version of Expert Sex Change - excuse me - Experts Exchange.

@benjaminhollon that's totally fine, just roll with the flow! It's definitely not an #expertsexchange at least! πŸ™ƒ
@aurynn But what if we want to talk about the old URLs of confusingly named tech websites? #expertsexchange
#expertsexchange γ˜γ‚ƒγ‚“
@YRthegdnamestkn @mmu_man interesting! I would have thought a CamelCase hashtag is easier to read correctly (consider: #ExpertsExchange vs. #ExpertSexChange). Do you have more context on this to share?
@bthall Not #StackExchange. #Experts-Exchange is the truly horrid site that helped inspire SE's creation. As for #Quora, I also grumble when they appear (for the same reason).
