Who said the sky’s the limit? ⛔🛰️ Space is not only acknowledged as a theatre of operations, but also as an important strategic enabler in support of all other defence domains. At the latest edition of the European Space Conference in Brussels, the European Defence Agency participated in two high-level discussions.  Stefano Cont, Capability, Armament & Planning (CAP) Director, highlighted how the Capability Development Plan 2023 (#CDP) sets the direction for EDA’s work to strengthen the European Union’s role in space. With growing challenges in orbit, efforts focus on securing satellite communications, improving Earth observation, and ensuring the protection of critical space assets. Eleni Patouni, Project Officer for space research and Moderator of EDA’s CapTech Space, highlighted the crucial role of this CapTech when it comes to coordination between Member States and industry for Research and Technology (R&T) development for space defence .
