"We Care about your Privacy"

No you don't, you fucking assholes!

  • If you did care about #privacy, you'd not want to force 247 trackers down my throat, you lying pieces if shit!
    • If you cared about my privacy, you'd not even try to force a single #tracker on me and awould only use a #LoginCookie at most!

This shite really makes my blood boil because it's insulting the intellect of every person!

@DirkGutlin @spujb @brembs @neuralreckoning Imo that's not the feature. It's more like Mastodon doesn't assume what you want. No one's making a decision about what should be on your feed.

Absolutely is a double-edge sword. Agree w/ most of Dirk's points, but I maintain as a baseline this might be more desirable if the tradeoff is #ensittification, consolidation of power, erosion of democracy, etc. given incentives of VC-led apps.

#ensittification is the word of the day. I don't like it as it isn't transparent in meaning. It refers to the decay of a digital platform over time as supposedly free platform services strive for profit. You'll see more adverts, fees for more than a very basic service, tracking cookies to feed adverts at you, and the sqeezing of money from far less powerful providers, e.g. small traders. So #PlatformDecay is the better term.

They had the data on number of people using the train and time it takes to cross the train station (it’s integrated into SBB app).

They have the traffic data - if just with Google.

They had previous substitution data - it’s one of the most routine substitutions in rail, both light and heavy.

And yet someone higher up either signed off on this option, or made sure to give only enough for a single bus.
