First up we have the “Father of the Animated Cartoon” Émile Cohl with the animated/stop-motion ~trick film~ “Les Beaux-Arts Mystérieux” AKA “The Mysterious Fine Arts” (1910). Of the over 250 films he made between 18 and 1923 only 37 have survived.

El tipo observó que se podía dibujar fotograma a fotograma toda una película. Para llevarla adelante, hizo una especie de “efecto tiza”, filmando líneas negras sobre un papel blanco, después, invirtió el negativo para que se vea como una tiza blanca escribiendo sobre un pizarrón negro. Así nació #Fantasmagorie, creada por el francés #ÈmileCohl y estrenada el 17 de agosto de 1908. Está considerada la primer película de animación de la historia y su relato (en menos de 2 minutos) es un homenaje al efímero “Movimiento incoherente” fundado por Jules Levy en el siglo XIX.
