"Humans are not evolved for modern life". Very interesting discussion with evolutionary biologist Ella Al-Shamahi.
I also recommend the BBC series "Humans" presented by Al-Shamahi. Top quality TV.

Ella Al-Shamahi on Instagram: "I can FINALLY announce that I have a @bbcradio4 series starting this Fri at 2:45!
Why Do We Do That: An Anthropologist's Guide To The Modern World
Ever wondered why we kiss, procrastinate, do risky things, feel physical pain after a break-up? I got ya.
Your friends might tell you to blame popular culture, your therapist might tell you to blame your parents... well I'm here to tell you to blame your great, great, great, great etc. etc. grandparents - for some stuff. Welcome to the series that asks if we are just cave-people... with instagram.
If you don't want to wait each week the first 5 episodes will drop this Friday on @bbcsounds or wherever you get your podcast.
The first episode... not in any way inspired by my own break-up (*looks at the sky*) asks why heartbreak can be physically painful. Why does heartbreak sometimes feel literal, like actual pain in the chest? The incredible @claraamfo joins me as I pose questions to Dr Freddy van der Veen - who studies the heart's response to break-up
I can’t thank the team enough - they worked so hard & had the patience of saints dealing with my constant re-edits. So much love especially to the talented Zoe Heron, Ami Bennett, Gulnar Mimaroglu, Christine Johnson and the development team at Studios and of course the Radio 4 commissioners for taking a punt. #WhyDoWeDoThat"

InstagramPeople in the UK are in luck, a documentary series presented by her starts on Channel 4 tomorrow. This channel is blocked outside the UK, but apparently us in the rest of the world get this documentary series later this year. It's about the discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb and the curse-myth that followed.

I think Ella Al-Shamahi is the real-life Indiana Jones. The below photo is not really an illustration of that fact, just an interesting picture of her, though I did think of captioning it "
Real-life Indiana Jones and the Dinosaur".
The photo shows Ella in Cambodia with a bird that is more than half her size (and she's not short) playfully biting her finger. The bird is a Great Hornbill.
