Today I learned about the #Evy language from Julia Ogris, its creator. It's a beginners language to span "the Scratch to Python gap", in her words.

Very cool talk on several levels: interesting language design and environment (including graphics!), excellent explanation of how a little language is implemented, and the final invitation to create more exercises and examples for beginning programmers!
