LIFE ON THE EDGE (LOTE) PROJECT

This summer, as part of a LIFE funded project (one of the last for the UK 😪 ) I had a brilliant trip to the German Wadden see coast to see how shorebirds and coastal habitats are managed (they are managed impressively)

One of the projects was the Gull-billed Tern colony on a bit of unassuming grassland in Dithmarschen, the last central European colony for this species - all other colonies are around the Med.
