Picture from today’s excursion with the EISCAT symposium in Tromsø. Soon these 10,000 antennas, along with similar fields in Finland and Sweden, will give detailed 3D views of the #ionosphere

Today the optical networks of Sikt and FUNET were interconnected at Skibotn (70' north).
Next step: deliver 4 Tbps network to #EISCAT_3D, a next-generation incoherent scatter radar system, will significantly improve its data handling and transfer capabilities, benefiting scientists studying the Earth's upper atmosphere and near-Earth space in the region.. 🌍🔬 #Connectivity #Science #ArcticResearch #NORDUnet
