It is entirely possible that the #DynamicAudioCompression solution I've been desperately seeking has been on my Mac all along. ... For shits and grins, I took a peek at Djay on my phone to see what kind of FX they offered, and saw under "main out effect" something called "O danamic compressor." ... *WOOT!* It took me all night but I found the same in the menu bar on the Mac; had hell to pay getting the save to stick with no "save" button and a "close" button that erases what you just set up, and I somehow accidentally made the save stay. ... Wootwoot!

I have zero clue exactly what the bloody blue hell is going on with our internet today, but as a result streaming via AirPlay to Apple TV, where I can use a nifty little feature called "Reduce Loud Sounds" to achieve something similar to dynamic audio compression, is nowhere near reliable right now.
