Paul Bongiorno: Nuclear power and Liberal response to Dunkley – two things that don’t add up
https://www.thenewdaily.com.au/finance/2024/03/05/bongiorno-liberals-dunkley-nuclear

Paul Bongiorno makes a number of excellent points in this article.
- Dutton’s toxic image, negativity, and total lack of policies is no help to the LNP.
- Opinions expressed by Sussan Ley bear little relation to reality.
- Nuclear power is not a viable option anywhere in the world due to cheap and plentiful renewables, and this especially the case in Australia due to not having nuclear power experts or industrial capability (nuclear medicine yes, nuclear power no).
- Former Liberal staffer, Niki Savva says trying to turn around Saturday’s defeat "as some kind of victory, shows a level of denial and delusion that does not serve them well". And: "You will never win an election with denial and delusion. They have to change".

Paul Bongiorno:  Nuclear power and Liberal response to Dunkley - two things that don't add up | The New Daily

The #Liberals are deluded. The #LNP are cocky in defeat, but have little reason to be so, the vast bulk of their slightly increased vote comes from the extreme right. The LNP are moving even further to the right and most voters will not be fooled. #QandA #DunkleyByelection

The Liberal Party's Senator Jane Hume is really excited that #Labor's primary vote went up in #Dunkley.

Vote counting is underway for the federal Dunkley by-election in Melbourne's south-east

It's going to be interesting to see if Jodie Belyea can hold the seat for the Labor Party. Albo and Julia Gillard put in a showing on the local scene to help their candidate.

Liberal Party candidate, Nathan Conroy, has experience as mayor of the City of Frankston, so his profile may help him. Peter Dutton was absent from the campaign yesterday, and I think it's because his own party told him to piss-off because he's toxic.

The count has begun for a crucial by-election in Melbourne's south-east tipped to be a test for the Albanese government.
