Synodontis congicus is a species of #upsidedownCatfish native to the #DemocraticRepublicOfTheCongo and the #RepublicOfTheCongo where it occurs in the upper and middle #CongoBasin. It was first described by Belgian ichthyologist #MaxPoll in 1971. The first specimen was found near the town of #GangalanaBodio, Democratic Republic of the Congo, in the #DunguRiver. The meaning of the #specificName "congicus" is "From the Congo".
