Dundry i the myst

The tower emerging into the red patch of sky is Dundry church (St Michael the Archangel) - shown in the second photo, looking like it belongs in a Lord of the Rings remake. The dedication to St Michael suggests that this may have been recognised as a place of some power - perhaps a pagan site of worship - which needed the power of an Archangel to combat.
