Just finished #DrillDozer . It was a bit shorter than I expected (which is not a bad thing). I had a lot of fun with it, it's a nice "take a break" kinda game (though some later bosses were quite crappy tbh).
The last level had a cool fake 3D vibe to it that made it a lot more imposing than the other levels.
Haven't decided what to play next on the #GameBoyAdvance yet, but I have a lot to choose from
My favorite moment in #DrillDozer is when you grab the 3rd gear and the music changes to this for the rest of the level.
Someone was talking about water levels the other day, and today I came across one in #DrillDozer . It was actually quite pleasant. Basically you cannot move conventionally at ALL, you can only spin your drill to build up velocity in a certain direction.
It is very slow and a little bit clunky, but it also enables a couple fun puzzles, where you wanna use your movement very methodically to swim against currents or dodge slow moving projectiles in time.
It felt less like a worse version of the movement you already knew, and more like something entirely new to learn, and I think it did it quite well.
Started a fun little platformer game called #DrillDozer on the #GameBoyAdvance . You run around in this little drilling robot and punch through walls by drilling very hard into them. It's simple but a lot of fun. Just what I need for now
.
No gameplay footage unfortunately, there is no easy way for me to record on a GBA
.
Hit credits on #DrillDozer.
A few quibbles with how the game handles mid-level healing and those infuriating timed sections aside, that game is a total blast.
4/5 for me. An absolute gem that more people should play.
So I decided to go with #DrillDozer instead of anything more modern.
My Bluetooth Keyboard and Deck Dock arrived though, so I'm going to be giving those a run out in the coming days; maybe I'll dive back into #Parkasaurus as, well I never gave it a fair shake whilst playing on a gamepad.
As for Drill Dozer. This little thing is adorable.
Right.
I think I'm done with #AstroBot. I might pop on every now and again to play with my kids, but for the most part of putting that in the 'finished' column.
Which means I need a new game to play.
I'm really thinking it might be time to take a much awaited look at #DemonsSouls. I've not touched that yet and I'm somewhat hesitant to play #DarkSouls2 right now.
Could go back in time and play some #SuperMarioBros3, or maybe take a look at #DrillDozer?
Or then there's my Steamdeck. I've got a keyboard and Dock on the way today so I'm excited to play some #TheRootreesAreDead at some point...but I've already got a frighteningly long backlog to clear and so I think it's gonna be either #Venba or #BombRushCyberfunk.
So yeah. What say you good people?
I don't know if it's the #AnaloguePocket dpad or just frustrating design decisions, but #Drilldozer wants me to do things that the controls are absolutely not tight enough to achieve.
