Toyota has retrofitted one of the two AE86 to be a battery electric vehicle, or #BEV and the 2nd one as a #hydrogen fuel cell vehicle.
Akio Toyoda, the president of Toyota, has said that remodelling existing cars is needed as an option to meet the goal of zero emission by 2050. It has been stated that in #Japan, only 1 in 20 vehicle is new and older vehicles are mainly powered at least partly with #gasoline.
