Good news, everyone! It's Friday! Before you push to prod and log off for turkey, remember that Starbucks Workers United is still on strike against Starbucks for unfair labor practices.

The union's demands are straightforward:

  • More hours to improve staffing levels
  • Higher take-home pay
  • Stop union-busting
  • As you travel, visit family (blood and chosen), shop on Black Friday, and prepare for the depths of winter, don't cross the picket line.

    No contract? No coffee!

Our Fight - Starbucks Workers United

We began taking action to push back on unresponsive management, unjust retaliation, and an unfair scheduling system. We saw that store by store, it was possible to win direct changes by taking a unified stand.

It's morning on the East Coast, and the Starbucks union is on strike. Don't cross the picket. No contract, no coffee.

You can support their strike fund directly or by buying some merch.

I haven't see much noise about it in here: Starbucks workers are on strike starting today. Don't cross the picket line. Don't buy anything from Starbucks.

Starbucks Workers United has been negotiating with Starbucks Corporate for years now, and still don't have a contract for fair wages and better scheduling.

Starbucks workers go on strike at 65 unionized US stores

More than 1,000 unionized Starbucks workers are on strike Thursday at 65 U.S. stores. The strike has closed some stores on Starbucks’ Red Cup Day, which is typically one of the company’s busiest days of the year. Starbucks gives away free, reusable cups to customers who buy a holiday drink. The union organizing Starbucks baristas says the striking workers are protesting a lack of progress in labor negotiations with the company. Starbucks Workers United says the walkout will impact stores in 45 cities, including New York, Philadelphia, Minneapolis and Dallas. Starbucks says fewer than 4% of its U.S. stores are unionized and sales were exceeding its expectations Thursday morning.
