There is only one time in the whole year when the choristers of the #Domcantorij do not sing in robes, and that is during our annual sponsor concert.

Last Tuesday it was the occasion again, and as usual, everyone put their effort into looking fancy & festive. I sewed a new dress for myself (by hand), inspired by the animal anthem we sang during the Easter vigil. 😊

We are delighted to announce the upcoming Zaterdagmiddagmuziek ("Saturday afternoon music") on the 22nd of April, 2023.

Surrounded by the stunning setting of the Domkerk Utrecht, we will showcase the beautiful and timeless "Missa Maria Magdalene" by Spanish composer Alonso Lobo (1555-1617).

Our concert starts at 3:30 and entry is free. Hope to meet you there! 😊

As my father did a lot of business with people in Germany, I can still remember this stamp - though of course, as a child, I did not know who the good lad was.

Now I am getting to know him better and better, through all the hours I spend rehearsing his fascinating - but demanding & laborious - Choralpassion. (So no time to craft a fancy image! 😉)

Ter afwisseling van de vocale muziek speelt de luitist David Van Ooijen muziek van Alessandro Piccinini (1566-1638) en Giovanni Girolamo Kapsberger (ca. 1580 – 1651).

De toegang is vrij, na afloop wordt een vrijwillige financiële bijdrage gevraagd.

Van dit concert zal niet live gestreamd worden en is uitsluitend in de #Domkerk te beluisteren.

Op vrijdag 24 februari om 9.15 uur vindt er een nationaal gebed voor #Vrede in #Oekraïne plaats in de
#Domkerk #Utrecht . Dit gebedsmoment wordt live uitgezonden op NPO2 . Wij zingen #Taizé en meer hoopvolle muziek.

Feestelijke CHORAL EVENSONG met verbintenis, 2/2/2023 Domkerk Utrecht. Het moderamen v/d Generale Synode v/d PKN heeft Hanna Rijken beroepen met een bijzondere opdracht als universitair docent ‘Theologie en de kunsten (in het bijzonder Kerkmuziek)’ aan de PThU.

De Evensong wordt gezongen door de #Domcantorij en het Vocaal Theologen Ensemble, olv Remco de Graas en organist is Jan Hage.
