I just got this PGP-signed message from @[email protected] about what happened to ~green, apparently whoever is handling the domain registration forgot to renew it ​:seija_coffee:​

How to handle #DomainRenewal:

  • Find all the promo-codes you can for all the registrars.
  • Compare prices after applying promo-codes.
  • If you find a price after applying promo-codes that’s over 25% lower than any registrar’s normal price: transfer to that registrar and buy ten years of credit at once. It doesn’t matter if it otherwise sucks, as long as it handles migrations.
  • Transfer back to a registrar that’s actually good.

    • Every now and then, check for prices again. If you find a lower price, repeat the process. It should happen once every few years.
