Harley caught a huge squirrel! My wife saw it at HomeSense and apparently it spoke to her.

So...I accidentally saved my #dogs life last month. We took the very reactive dude into the vets to get microchipped which involved anesthesia, (did I mention he is SUPER reactive and 90lbs?). Since we were knocking him out I had them remove 3 moles that looked healthy but fast growing and he'd started to chew at them a bit. Turns out the forgot to put in the microchip due to a paperwork error, but the moles weren't healthy they were stage one cancer. #DogsOfMastadon

Out for a 6,000 step hike on this glorious Wednesday. Sunny and +7°C means a light unzipped spring coat. Lots of melting going on but snowbanks on the sreets are still 4 to 5 feet high. A warm weekend with considerable rain might bring some flooding.
The ice on Lake Simcoe is apparently still pretty thick. We stopped at a couple of shoreline parks used as on-ramps and snowmobiles were active today taking advantage of the weather. About half of the fishing shacks on Cooks Bay have been hauled in to shore but lots left that need to be removed.

Casper working hard on his task list for today. Job #4 is napping for 8 hours. Big sister Harley (top right corner) is outside securing her perimeter.

Maybe it isn't a very ladylike pose, and that neck looks broken, but Harley is totally relaxed about the heavy snow falling outside. She knows Spring is close despite the current weather conditions.

It's a warm 3°C today so Harley wanted to go to the beach. Water was still too solid for a swim but soon.
