A bit of good news, but the devil's in the details which we don't know yet. Too much Disney money driving Russell T Davies to wild excesses of glitz at the expense of solid story lines almost killed Doctor Who for a generation.

As someone who watched the very first episode on a black and white television, that really pisses me off.

Alice - from the Lewis Carroll books - is never given a full physical description other than height and approximate age.

Yet usual depictions of her are overwhelmingly as a blonde girl.

Most people who care, think Alice was based on a real friend of Caroll's a girl called Alice Liddell but she had dark hair in real life.

I blame the #Disney Animated film 'Alice In Wonderland' released in 1951.

I have been fearful of the #disneyfication of #drwho, but I'm glad to admit that the first episode of the new series was pretty good.

The part of me that grew up watching Tom Baker wishes that the story was spread over several episodes, as parts seemed a little rushed, but it held together.

There were the big red #discountDaleks, but I can live with that.

I'm excited to see what #disney animation will bring to the next episode.
