This was a ride- initially I was on the side of the town- they don’t want out of state people registering as residents at their summer home to avoid taxes like a lot of Mass folks do. Plus this dumb state has rules about living at camp grounds year round they started enforcing during the last recession, so I can see them applying this to “camps” as well.

But then I read this part where the rich residents tell on themselves:

“[Brookline residents] want to save the property for natural use or at least get out of the landlord-tenant business so we aren’t providing what has come to be low-cost housing. It also threatens to become a revenue-heavy impact given the increasing pressure to have tenants apply for welfare or threaten to consider sending their children to school.”

The ever increasing push to use apps for everything we do, makes me wonder if those in power are pushing us towards a cashless society...I know some people think it's great, but there are many problems with virtual money. Far better we move to a post scarcity (Star Trek 'money-free) society.
