Banned by Miami/Dade School District on the basis of one parent complaint. The complaint lists it as a book by Oprah Winfrey.
Evidently, no one read it or reviewed it prior to banning it. I am so furious about this crap. They also, along with many pieces of Black literature, banned Beloved by Toni Morrison and To Langston With Love by Tony Medina.
This is what white supremacist erasure of Black culture looks like in Fascist America.

There seems to be no viable, sustained resistance movement in FL. #ElectedDems have no real spines and their Districts are so gerrymandered to insert #diversity as a barrier to any specific interest for catylistic organizing. #FL has long been a Republican stronghold. The first rally is to call out elected Dems and the orgs that support them.
