A couple hours of kid wrangling and #DayofDH2022 continues: wrapping up the slides for tomorrow.
I snuck a look at the handful of responses to the @[email protected] survey. They make things feel possible. Let's do this. Survey here: https://forms.gle/SstEYBKNxz11DxNY6
Remember that time when a skeleton came along to DH conferences in 2019 to put the body back in embodied DH, and there were big plans to form an ADHO SIG for women and gender minorities, but then that pandemic happened and even though the group was approved by ADHO, caretaking ate a lot of people's lives for 18+ months or more so no one had bandwidth to actually follow up on stuff? Somehow it's 2 years later now. We do actually have an ADHO SIG. So we wanted to check in with everyone to see what you need now and how DH-WoGeM can help.
On the train home, I worked on slides for tomorrow's #DayofDH2022 bonus talk. Revisiting a @[email protected] classic through a slightly different lens.
“For some bonus #DayofDH2022 tomorrow, I'll be talking about taking fun seriously at @UNT_Libraries. It should be quite a journey ranging from the #DataSittersClub, #DHRPG, and fanfic, to Ukrainian web archiving, and... ducks 🦆🦆🦆. Zoom sign-up at https://t.co/CpN9rCm3Hr”
The #DayofDH2022 campus day ended w/ onboarding an RA to a data collection project. I got 0 things on my to-do list done while on campus.
As I walked to the shuttle, I watched the PBS NewsHour livestream of the piece on #SUCHO.
