Never posted these final photos of Gambit that I entered into The Worthy at adepticon! He didn't end up winning anything, which is perfectly fine given the level of competition! Still happy with him. He was also the only Gambit with a crop top, which is sort of a win in and of itself.

Unfortunately because of time constraints I didn't get a chance to get feedback from the judges, which I was really sort of looking forward to. It's frustrating that many things at the con happen on Sunday when people are also trying to get home. I may just have to stay an extra night next year.

I'm also intrigued by the competition that Monument was talking about for next year, which is completely open with more opportunities for feedback

Some days it feels like the world is an experiment designed to make me crack. Like things are fine directly in my house, but every time I look out, yikes ...

But we're not worrying about that right now!

We're focusing real hard on putting tiny bits of paint in a tiny man! Gambit's hair and eyes I'm happy with, even if staring at the eyes makes me want to go back in again. We'll give it some space and see how it looks.

I do think it's actually slightly smoother than before but I've got to push a bit more paint around.

I've been a bit preoccupied with painting big chunks of foam, but I've got to get a bit of a move on if I'd like Gambit done for adepticon.

Found time today to redo the suits on the cards, much more satisfied with them now. Pants have seams down the side as well.

Progress on Gambit's acid washed jeans. Tricky trying to get texture on something at this scale but not bad so far. Also pleased with how the knee holes are looking. Part of me thinks they need more contrast but I'll let them sit for now.

They do look a bit painted on though (eh? eh?)

Appropriate for our slick and loveable king!

I also whited out the suits on the cards. They were slightly off center and easier to fix just from scratch.

The whole family has the day off today, but through a series of events I had the morning to myself to do some painting, which I haven't had both chance and motivation for a bit.

Gambit's kinetic energy has presented a bit of a challenge, pink and white don't necessarily want to go together the way I want them to! Some frustration but I'm happier with the direction after a bit of messing about. Way more to do, but at least a start!

Details! Some real painstaking, breath holding stuff here, but I'm happy with where the shirt is at and mostly happy with the suits on the cards. The cards will likely get some more touching up and I've got to decide how to handle the backs.

Productive morning! Most base colors blocked in, just to make sure it's all going to work together really.

Worked up some highlights on the skin because the base color there isn't a great indicator of where things are going.

Lots more to be done but I think the crop top has succeeded. The abs! 😍
