It is not a surprise that the state of employment in the arts is in crisis, characterised by difficulty recruiting and retaining staff, skills shortages, crap pay, crappier working conditions and more. There are specific shortages in production and technical roles across the arts and financial and accounting and marketing communications roles in a number of sectors.
