Interesting fact for the day, that I just curiously searched on Wikipedia.

Of all the countries, most have double or triple digit country codes. +63 for the Philippines, +44 for UK, +52 for Mexico

A few have single digits. Notably +1 and +7
US, Canada, and select Caribbean use +1
Russia and Kazakhstan use +7

So far no others I’ve found

If your Go (#golang) service or application deals with country information and ISO-3166 codes, you should consider using the new #gogen #countrycode package (https://pkg.go.dev/github.com/tecnickcom/gogen/pkg/countrycode).

This package provides information about countries and their ISO-3166 codes. The data is stored in a compact binary format, ensuring fast access and a small memory footprint. The default data can be overridden with a custom one. Multiple indexes are automatically created for efficient querying by various fields.

The Country Code - Dogs 🐢 - Our Cornish Farm

Over the next coming weeks, I will be talking about The Country Code. I thought now was an appropriate time, with schools breaking up and more people making the most of the warm weather. Now we all love the countryside, and we are lucky enough to have so much access…

I totally agree. I walk my lurcher on the lead across many footpaths going through farmland.
It is a matter of understanding that a dog's urge to hunt is very strong.
Being on a lead also means we get close to wildlife including hares.
I regularly remind other dog walkers of the importance of keeping livestock and wildlife safe.
Sadly some people are rude and ignorant.
