The separation of powers and other constitutional protections are looking to be a sham. Given hideously bad presidents such as Buchanan, [Andrew] Johnson, Hoover, Nixon, and Trump, it at least ought to be astonishing that zero presidents have ever been impeached and removed from office. The John Roberts MAGA Tribunal, formerly known as the United States Supreme Court, has a rubber stamp for Trump appeals; and the Congress simply loves to roll over and play dead. That leaves the People and only the People; and it seems to me that if we People don't start expecting more in a major hurry we can count on an eternity of getting less if anything at all.
As I posted awhile back, a second American revolution seems unlikely but possible.
