Something I love about 500-tap microblogs (fairly new to me) as a writing process, is it forces me to choose active verbs, cut back on adverbs, and find evocative metaphors to replace long-winded descriptions. Now, when I write in longer form, these tips stay with me.
I've been teaching college writing for 20 years, but I'm learning new things here. I think a microblog assignment will be part of my courses from now on, for the skills it can foster.
