On my way back from #CollabW23, the best workshop on the planet. Great to have been able to go in person again, and equally great to work with people hybridly, which worked well IMHO (keen to see what the feedback from online participants is).
One highlight was meeting co-@[email protected] alumni @[email protected] and @saranjeet in person, and hacking together in the best ever team towards a definition of criteria for #SoftwareAuthorship 😍.
Until #CollabW24!
So that's a wrap! As usual an intense couple of days for #CollabW23, thanks to all the organizers at the Software Sustainability Institute, volunteers & funders.
Special thanks to conference chair Rachael Ainsworth, pictured below.
Now we prepare for the hack day tomorrow!
2nd place was "Tech Orchard: Creating an open outreach resource data base for coding&co"
3rd place was "Prequel-dash: Outlining a Turing Way chapter on The Environmental Impact of Open Research" (well done @pherterich, @MarionBWeinzierl and team mates)
Now onto the second Lightning Talks session at #CollabW23 where @ellakaye is promoting our video demo: "How to Make a Contribution to Base R" https://youtu.be/VOlF8fPf9v8.
In less than 10 minutes we go through
- How to find a good first issue
- Getting to the root of the issue (demonstrated with a past bug)
- How to propose a fix
Plus, how to find out more!
