I fear the biggest problem is most of us haven't walked even 1/8 mile in the the other persons shoes. I am stunned by how unaware most of my fellows are at the various challenges others face, and how specific #ClimateActions might affect others.

And similarly, how few people understand how specific climate actions might affect them, and fear the worst.

Currently at OEF, I am working on automating climate action selection based on specific and individual city profiles and their greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The goal is to lower entry barriers and reduce the resources required for cities to take meaningful climate actions on their path to lower emissions and adapt to climate change.

Chins up, take heart, and keep taking the #ClimateActions you can right where you are. #ThinkGloballyActLocally! As City of #Monterey Mayor Clyde Roberson commented in a city council session on June 6, 2017 [when POTUS 45/47, was in office and made U.S. the first nation in the world to formally withdraw from the Paris climate agreement], “We have our own Paris Accord!”💚

"My experience as a mayor was that if cities, representing the bulk of global GDP, got together and said, 'We’re not going to wait on our national capitals. We’re going to take action ourselves.' That’s how the C40, which became the climate mayors, was born. So I have a lot of confidence that state and local work will continue.” —outgoing Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg https://www.theverge.com/2025/1/13/24338378/pete-buttigieg-dot-interview-ev-sales-trump-musk

Pete Buttigieg has a few things to say on his way out

In an exit interview, US Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg spoke about Donald Trump’s threats to eliminate EV subsidies, Elon Musk’s new-founded political power, and what is still left to do.

Interview: Why global support for climate action is ‘systematically underestimated’

"We thus conclude in the paper that, “[r]ather than echoing the concerns of a vocal minority that opposes any form of climate action, we need to effectively communicate that the vast majority of people around the world are willing to act against climate change and expect their national government to act”. We hope that our study sparks a debate on this topic, and increases awareness about the large global support for climate action."

Interview: Why global support for climate action is 'systematically underestimated' - Carbon Brief

There is near-universal global public support for climate action, yet people underestimate the commitment of their peers, according to a new study.

There's an alternative to Hydrogen that this article doesn;t acknowledge:
https://www.theguardian.com/business/2024/feb/13/will-hydrogen-overtake-batteries-in-the-race-for-zero-emission-cars

for heavy, long distance road vehicles (Trucks, buses) "In Motion Charging" aka IMC, might be a more cost effective, safer strategy - where vehicles use overhead wires (like a trolleybus) and have smaller battery pack for shorter segments where overhead wires are not cost effective.

See https://www.uitp.org/news/trolleybus-in-motion-charging-knowledge-brief/ for more, or search on "In Motion Charging"

There are a lot of #ClimateActions that are not being discussed because business ignores possible solutions that may function best as public infrastructure, or because of complex legal (not technical) problems. IMC is such an example - so proposals for trolley buses are appearing, but over the road freight is ignored.

Have you heard the Confucius quote saying "The man who moves a mountain begins by carrying away small stones."

We need to take Climate Action ourselves, there's no point in waiting for those in power to act, we must do it ourselves. IMO there's no better place to start than here, 52ClimateActions.com more than 52 actions you and I can take, our kids and grandkids, the groups we are members of or are yet to form.

Many small actions will make a difference and if we shout about them we'll move mountains!
