The Hillman Imp, despite its rather staid appearance, had decent sporty credentials. The Clan Crusader gave it the clothes to match in the form of a new GRP monocoque body. The Crusader was available either as a kit or in fully built-up form. Like the recently featured Midas, it had a good pedigree for a kit car: it was designed by ex-Lotus engineers and built from 1971 in a new factory. Seen at the recent Practical Classics resto show.
