.@[email protected], I just published #ChrisRereads, Day Two: The Case for Cancel Culture. Spending the next week liveblogging my read before I review it for @[email protected]. https://link.medium.com/bz3fGNN4lvb

#bookstodon, my first #ChrisReReads starts today with .@MrErnestOwens' remarkable THE CASE FOR CANCEL CULTURE (St. Martins, 2023). Not a review but kind of a liveblog of responses, chapter by chapter.

Owens begins his introduction with #Jan62021, "the day America was canceled," whispering the tension his book will feel between the MAGA forces attempting to demolish anything progressive and the ongoing _necessity_ of calling out bad behavior by public figures.

I'm a fast reader, always have been; in third grade I raced a classmate to be the first to finish H.G. Wells' Journey to the Center of the Earth. I was also learning to skim, of course.
now surrounded by books in my field I haven't reviewed, others whispering from my Kindle queue.

Because I read to write, now will write to read, and introduce y'all to the books and my thinking about them. I'm calling it #ChrisRereads.
