It's amazing how I can now deposit a check using my phone and a simple banking app. All it takes is photographing both sides of the check, and voilà—done! I have a small check sitting on my desk right now, waiting to be deposited. It's been there for three days, procrastination getting the better of me. Back in the day, depositing a check meant a trip to the bank or mailing it through the United States Postal Service—so 20th-century. Another, less common option was finding a retailer willing to accept a two-party check. Would you have accepted one? It was easier with a paycheck which became a retailer service in places, though there was often a fee involved.
