Matthieu Urvoy#music #jazz #nujazz I've always loved #Chassol and his piano / orchestral compositions and arrangements. I love how he manages to stand on a knife edge between seriousness (clever compositions, rich harmonies, neat sound samples, well-structured orchestrations, minimalism - hello #SteveReich) and grotesque (strange timbers, voice harmonizations, sometimes reminiscent of works by #HuguesLeBars).
On top of that, the lyrics are often commited (racism, slavery, etc) - wink wink #JacquesCoursil .
