Today's adventure: seeking #sailing electronics.

One can #sail most places with a few #charts and tools, a #DepthSounder, and hopefully a pair of binoculars. Modern sounders are a marvel of technology - a standard #transducer reports through-water speed, water temp, angle of heel… and depth.

A #GPS device is now considered standard, though most people rely on their mobile phone. A #ChartPlotter is a better tool, and can display sensor information too.

But not exactly free…

Sadly, it does not appear anyone associated with #OpenCPN on Mastodon is connected to my host. Sad, because this is a fabulous FLOSSy #ChartPlotter #Navigator and #Quadrature_du_Net is always supportive of opensource.

Regardless, I want to give a shout-out to Leamas, who is doing an outstanding job of bug-wrangling at least on the flathub org.opencpn.OpenCPN repo.
