Born Allan Kowbel, Chad Allen was my dad's second cousin. I never met him but my brother went to see him in his later years play some intimate living room shows in Vancouver. After the show, my brother introduced himself and said that they were related. Chad signed his record with: "Hey, it's nice to meet family!"
