Gerade eröffnet Claire Fernandez von unserem europäischen Dachverband @edri die Veranstaltung „Encryption in the age of surveillance“. Mitten in Brüssel soll es heute darum gehen, warum wir Verschlüsselung brauchen.
Die #Chatkontrolle, welche die EU-Kommission gemeinsam mit „KI“-Unternehmen gegen alle Warnungen durchsetzen will, steht europäischen Grundrechten entgegen und würde uns alle weniger sicher machen.
Bei der Veranstaltung sprechen unter anderem @ella von EDRi, Dunja Mijatović, Kommissarin für Menschenrechte im Europarat, Carmela Troncoso, Assistenzprofessorin an der EPFL und Expertin für Sicherheit und Datenschutz und @Mer__edith, Präsidentin der Signal Foundation.
Heute betonen wir also mit diesen Stimmen von Expert.innen die gesellschaftliche Bedeutung von Verschlüsselung und feiern sie unter dem Motto #CelebrateEncryption.
