#CecilePin recounts the story of the Vietnamese boat people in #WanderingSouls via a single family fleeing communism in the 1970s who seek refuge in the UK. Very relevant to today's migrant crisis, a story that needs to be told and remembered. Clever plotting with a timeline that jumps around but never confuses. Tragic and heartwarming in equal measures, sadly the writing style is a bit pedestrian and not particularly gripping. A good solid debut, however, that could have been so much better.
