Korean students are fighting for the right to carry out protest actions during the #election period.
This is not a theoretical concern. On July 22, Gwangju district prosecutors office indicted 3 students from #CandleLightMovement related groups. They are facing potentially thousands of dollars of fines and 1 year in prison.
Constitutional court has ruled these types of prosecutions excessive.

1. 배경 국민들은 박근혜 탄핵 이후 검찰개혁과 언론개혁 등을 외치며 대한민국의 변화를 요구하고 만들어왔습니다. 대통령 선거기간에도 국민들은 더 나은 대한민국을 위하여 자신의 정치적 의사를 표현하고자 했습니다. 그런 국민분들이 모여 발족 된 전국단체 ‘개혁과 전환’은 뜻을 모아 검찰개혁 및 김건희 수사를 요구하는 1인시위와 집회, 캠페인들을 전국적으로 진행했습니다. 이 과정에서 대통령 선거기간을 맞이한 단체 ‘개혁과 전환’은 선관위와 협의하에 선거법에 저촉되지 않는 선에서 검찰개혁과 김건희 수사촉구 활동을 펼쳤습니다. 광주에서도 마찬가지로 촛불집회, 현수막행동, 1인시위 등을 진행하였습니다. 2. 광주시민과 대학생을 향한 충격적인 검찰의 탄압 그런데 대선기간으로부터도 4개월이 지난 7월22일, 광주지검에서 ‘개혁과 전환’에 소속되어 활동한 시민단체 및 학생단체 회원들에게 선거법 위반이라며 기소하였습니다. 그리고 12월9일 진행된 1심 2차공판에서 4명의 인물에게 각각 징역 1년과 벌금500만원, 벌금300만원 등을 구형하며 유례없는 탄압을 펼치고 있습니다. 3. 대통령 비호하는 정치검찰 규탄한다. 작금의 광주검찰의 행태는 윤석열 대통령의 비위를 맞추며 시민들을 탄압하는 정치검찰의 모습이나 다름없습니다. 윤석열 퇴진 촛불을 들고 있는 <광주전남 촛불행동>에서부터 광주 시민들과 함께 적극 규탄하고 투쟁에 나서겠습니다. 4. 일정 - 다음재판 :1심 결심공판은 1월20일입니다. 5. 요청 이에 4명의 광주시민을 향한 검찰의 기소를 규탄하고 중단을 요청하는 탄원서를 제출하고자 합니다. 12월 31일(토)까지 온라인 상으로 탄원서를 취합할 예정입니다. 국민분들의 많은 관심과 참여 부탁드립니다.
