The #NelvanaStudio, the 50-year-old #CanadianAnimation studio was named after #Nelvana_ofTheNorthernLights. #MarvelComics character, #Snowbird was inspired by the character - in the Marvel comic, her mother was named Nelvanna. McLaren; a Scottish immigrant who had a long career with the Canadian National Film Board (NFB). Pioneering hand-drawn animation, drawn-on-film animation (which is exactly what it seems like), visual music, abstract film, pixilation and graphical sound. McLaren lived at a time when LGBT people were actively repressed.
