Semipalmated Sandpiper at Avalon Beach
During our day trip down the shore at Avalon Beach, as Bhavna and I wandered the sand, I noticed a small shorebird moving quietly along the beach. The Semipalmated Sandpiper darted across the soft, grainy sand, its brown and white plumage blending effortlessly with the scattered seashells and pebbles. I later identified the bird as a Semipalmated Sandpiper using iNaturalist.
