Als Bundesamt für Naturschutz sind wir zum zweiten Mal mit dem „CMS Champions Award “ des Sekretariats der Bonner Konvention zum Schutz wandernder wildlebender Tiere (CMS) ausgezeichnet worden. Die Auszeichnung würdigt die langjährige und kontinuierliche Unterstützung des BfN bei der Umsetzung der Central Asian Mammals Initiative (CAMI).
Arten wie der Schneeleopard oder die Saiga-Antilope sind zunehmend durch Infrastrukturausbau, Grenzsicherung, Rohstoffgewinnung bedroht.
