I purchased a 1924 Bausch & Lomb Balopticon (https://archive.org/details/balopticonsacces00baus/mode/2up) today. It's in pretty rough condition (missing some parts, the bottom of it is rusted almost all the way through, etc.), but I mostly just wanted the lenses. I managed to get the larger of the two off without any trouble and it is a *chonk*. 4x5 cameras for scale. It weighs just over 12lbs. π
Not sure what to do with it yet. Any thoughts?
For anyone interested, #Chonk is a wild animal that patrols the courtyards where I live, not a domestic pet.
The fences are made with the corner palings a few CM short of the ground, so the #BlueTongueSkink population can roam between courtyards.
Look at my ENTIRE lizard again. #LizardPosting #LizardsOfMastodon #BlueTongueSkink #Chonk
Setting up this shot, I put the tape out, then put the food down, assuming Chonk would walk alongside the tape, and give me a good shot for scale. He immediately grabbed the body of the tape measure in his mouth, and we had a tug of war over it. Eventually I had to distract him with the food, and put the tape down AFTER he started eating.
