Lately I've been feeling anxious about becoming a teacher (I'm starting a credentialing program in June). Because of AI, it feels hard to predict anything but chaos in the coming decades.
How do I give young people a sense of direction and hope in this world? If anything, I want to impart a sense of awe in my students - awe of nature, of the universe, and of the beauty which is found in life if we look the right way.
I also want to instill a sense of ethics, because I believe the only way we'll survive the coming crises is through faith in humanity, and a keen inner sense of right and wrong.
How do you cope with an uncertain future? What do you tell the rising generation about how to orient their lives?

Photo info:
I was experimenting with a single-shot technique where I mount my camera on a tracker which runs at half-speed, to double the possible exposure time before the shot blurs. Then, I keep the built-in noise reduction functions on my camera turned ON (I know, crazy, right?)
This was a single, 8 second shot at ISO 4000 and f/1.8. Taken with a Nikon Z6 ii and 85mm prime lens. Processed in GIMP.
The subject is the constellation Scorpius, rising over a hill at Pinnacles National Park in California. Exciting times - milky way season is almost upon us! 😊
