#Faust (Functional Audio Stream) is a functional programming language for sound synthesis and audio processing with a strong focus on the design of synthesizers, musical instruments, audio effects, etc.

Here's how a typical Faust program looks like

I am not a Faust user myself yet - using #Puredata extensively. So that date looks like a quick and intense overview & introduction event, steep learning curve included.

I recommend reading "The Sound of Innovation" by Andrew J. Nelson (2015) freely available at: https://ccrma.stanford.edu/~aj/TheSoundOfInnovation.htm

Especially for people at the intersection of #music and #computers, like #musicians #coding #software or #developers interested in music #applications, it's a great resource about how #CCRMA of #Stanford #University evolved, what makes people of different #disciplines engage #collaboratively in #researching #technologies, and why they happened to develop #FLOSS #audio software.
Does anyone know if Planet #CCRMA repos for Fedora are still being updated? The website only talks about support for Fedora 30 although the repos technically work on my latest version of Fedora.
