On top of all those ⬇️, this is the first election in California with our new congressional district boundaries. I'm up in #CA01 and we'll likely elect a Dem rep for the first time in decades. McGuire or Denney would both be light-years more responsive to the district's needs than LaMalfa ever was.

James Gallagher defends tariffs that are hurting California farmers. #CA01
DWFA proudly endorses Mike McGuire for Congress in CA-01. This new district is a real pickup opportunity—and the race resets for November. McGuire has the resources and coalition to win. Support → secure.actblue.com/donate/dw_ca01 #CA01 #DemsWork4USA #FlipItBlue
California State Senator Mike McGuire, fresh on the heels of getting the @[email protected] endorsement for both #CA01 races over Democratic candidate Audrey Denney, will be in Chico tomorrow for a meet and greet at 10:30am, open to the public.
This article is about the CA Dem Party's endorsement for US Rep in the new #CA01 district, a seat previously held by Doug LaMalfa. CA Dem Party chair Rusty Hicks tried to prevent the party's endorsement of Mike McGuire over Audrey Denney, after McGuire got 74% of the district caucus delegates vote.

Once Menefee is sworn in, the GOP margin in the House will be just 218-214. Upcoming specials: • #GA14 (R): March 10, but runoff likely on April 7 • #NJ11 (D): April 16, but all-important Dem primary this *Thursday* (yes, Thursday!) • #CA01 (R): June 2, but runoff likely on Aug. 4

I was a little irked when I saw that #CA01 will be in the taxation-without-representation phase for at least eight months. But until the new boundaries kick in, we'll likely get someone from the LaMalfa-Gallagher machine, so we're better off with no rep for as long as possible.

The new #CA01 district will have the primary election in June, while the old district will have to wait until August to vote for someone to fill the remainder of LaMalfa's term. That will likely go to a runoff in November when we'll vote for reps for the old district AND the new district.
